Cook High School Media Center hosted the #hourofcode event December 5-9th in conjunction with Computer Science Awareness week. These students coded an animated greeting card to be emailed to friends and family. The code.org event is know world wide as the largest documented learning event in history. Over 60 students participated in the #hourofcode event. 1st Prize winner won an Amazon Fire Tablet and went to Breanna Evans. 2nd prize went to I'Yona Spruill and 3rd prize was awarded to Jill Bullard. These students exemplified professional coding skills by adding animation, perfectly aligned shapes and text, and demonstrating overall creativeness, a skill necessary for a computer programmer.
